How to Attach Wooden Shingles to an Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) Wall?

Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) offer an embedded furring strip every 8” on center.
As wooden shingles will require an air space, here is a good option for fastening to an ICF wall:
- Strap vertically with pressure treated 1×3 strapping.
- Strap again with 1×3, this time horizontally, with the horizontal spacing lining up with the nailing area on the single.
- Fasten the shingles to the strapping.
Please note that you should always refer to the shingle manufacturer for the specific recommended installation.
