
DOES THE FROST WALL OF A SLAB ON GRADE HOME NEED TO BE WATERPROOFED?
If grade on the exterior side of the Logix ICF frost wall is at a higher elevation than the interior slab grade level, the exterior surface of the Logix ICF frost wall should be waterproofed, typically with a peel and stick membrane.
If the interior slab grade is at a higher elevation than the exterior side of the Logix ICF frost wall, then the slab should be dampproofed or waterproofed.
From a building science standpoint, it would be best practice to always waterproof the exterior side of a Logix ICF frost wall of a slab on grade structure to keep moisture to the exterior of the structure.
