Hurricane Strong is a new, annual national hurricane resilience initiative to increase safety and reduce economic losses through collaboration with the most recognized public and private organizations in the disaster safety movement.
The Hurricane Strong Home project is a unique rebuilding demonstration taking place in Breezy Point, New York, for a deserving lifelong resident, Diane Hellriegel, whose home (along with many others in this tight knit coastal community) was destroyed by the high winds and storm surge of Superstorm Sandy.
Diane’s new home will demonstrate best practice, code-compliant coastal construction using a variety of strong, innovative, resilient and super energy-efficient materials, including walls constructed with Logix Insulated Concrete Forms.
